FORT WAYNE – The University of Saint Francis volleyball program has added another former Warsaw standout to its talented roster.

WCHS senior Emily Poe signed on Wednesday to continue her playing career for coach Fabiana Shields’ program.

Poe had an outstanding prep career at WCHS for coach Mike Howard’s highly-successful program. The outside hitter and defensive specialist earned All-Northern Lakes Conference honors three times. Poe was also the Most Improved Player for the Tigers as a sophomore, was All-Northeast Indiana honorable mention twice and was an Indiana Junior All-Star nominee in 2012.

Poe was one of eight seniors for Howard’s squad this fall. She helped lead the Tigers to a 25-8 season.  Poe helped Warsaw to a 27-6 mark her junior season, including a 7-0 record to win the NLC championship.

Poe, the daughter of Brian and Charlotte Poe, participates in Peer Tutoring at WCHS and carries a 10.3 GPA on a 12.0 scale. She plans to major in either Special Education or Social Work at Saint Francis.

Poe will rejoin former Warsaw teammate Chloe Hubner at Saint Francis. Hubner was a freshman setter for the Cougars this season. Saint Francis posted a 17-17 overall mark this fall, including a 9-9 conference record. The Cougars compete in the Crossroads League, along with teams that include Grace College, Goshen College and Bethel College.
