Phyllis A. White, 84, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse.

She was born March 2, 1932, in Howe, Ind., to Cleon and Carlie (Ruth) Steele. On June 4, 1976, she married Vernon White who survives. She was a secretary and homemaker.

Phyllis is survived by her husband: Vernon White, Syracuse; a daughter: Lori (Marc) Abel, Libertyville, Ill.; two sons: Douglas Simpson, South Bend, Ind.; and Joel Simpson, Austin, Texas; two step daughters: Kathy Rice, South Bend; and Nancy White, South Bend; a sister: Mary Lou Krider, South Bend; and two grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
