Navistar International Corporations deal to sell its RV business to a Florida company is expected to lead to the loss of hundreds of jobs in an Elkhart County.

According to Fox 28, production will move from the Monaco RV operation in Wakarusa to Decatur in Adams County. The move could mean the loss of 800 jobs roughly one year after Utilimaster decided to pull out of Wakarusa.

Monaco is one of the lines being acquired by Allied Specialty Vehicles Incorporated (ASV). Allied Specialty Vehicles is expected to continue production in that community through the end of August. It is the second major purchase of an Indiana unit by ASV this month. The company announced a deal for the ambulance division of Elkhart-based Thor Industries earlier this month.
