Robert Jessop Beer, 69, of Milford, Ind., passed away unexpectedly at 10:53 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Ind.
He was born Aug. 8, 1943, to Harry L and D. Lucille (Jessop) Beer. He married Jacquelyn (Craft) on Sept. 11, 1965, she survives.
Robert (Bob) was a life long resident of Milford. He graduated from Warsaw High School in 1962. He was president and CEO of Beer’s & Jessop’s Co. Inc.
Bob was an eagle scout and he served in Army Reserves from 1964-1970. He was precinct commiteeman for Van Buren Township and was a member of the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning appeals, where he served as the chairman for many years.
He was past patron of Kosciusko Chapter 169 O.E.S, was a member of Kosciusko Masonic Lodge 417 F. & A.M. He was a member of Scottish Rite and belonged to the Mizpah Shine in Fort Wayne.
He is survived by eight children: Amy (Slade) Smith, Yorktown, Ind.; Robert Jessop (Bobbi) Beer II, North Webster, Ind.; Victoria Lynn Richardson, Milford; Christian William (Lisa) Beer, Milford; John Henry (Tabatha) Beer, Milford; Thomas Edwin (Trisha) Beer, Syracuse, Ind.; Abby (Caleb) Gish, Larwill, Ind.; and Nicholas Aaron Beer, Milford. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and one brother: Theodore (Nancy) Beer, Leesburg, Ind.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April, 11, at the funeral home. There will be a graveside service immediately following the funeral at Milford Cemetery.
