North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce selected a new president and six new board members at the general membership meeting Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the North Webster American Legion.

Sue Ward, owner of Sue’s Creations in North Webster and Syracuse, was chosen to lead the group for the next two years.

New board members chosen were Jeremy Likens, North Webster Fire Department; Linda Land, American Legion; Brenda Peterson, Lake City Bank; Jen Ducey, Tippecanoe Township, Martha Stoelting, The Papers Inc.; and Richard Owen, Owen Family Funeral Homes. Land and Ducey were re-elected to new terms.

They join current board members Ashley Ward, Dave’s Electric; Helen Leinbach, North Webster Community Public Library; Stacey Cox, Pletcher Insurance; Karilyn Metcalf, Dixie Sternwheeler Inc.; and Emilie Judy, Mutual Bank.

Santa’s Visit has been revamped for this year reported co-committee chairman Land, who serves along with Cox. A community celebration, it is coordinated with a “Small Business Saturday” for North Webster area business some of which will remain open later on Saturday, Nov. 24, and have specials.

Children should visit the North Webster Community Center gym for fun, games and pizza between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24. Santa will arrive in a fire truck downtown on the lawn in front of Pilcher’s Shoes around 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Kids can visit with him there and get their photos taken too. There will be a live nativity and the town tree lighting will be 6:30 p.m.

Membership applications for 2013 have been coming in. Please send in yours and invite another business to join as well.

The chamber Christmas party for members and employees will begin 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Please drop off a picture of a baby up to 3 years of age of those attending by Nov. 30 at Sue’s Creations or the chamber office in the NWCC or email them to the chamber.

There will be no regular general meeting in December in lieu of the Christmas Party. The next general meeting will be 12 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, North Webster American Legion.
