A Warsaw man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease is missing this evening and his family is desperately trying to located him. Bob Loper is believed to be driving a 2009 Chevy Suburban like this one, with license plate YG5837.
(UPDATE: Diane Catron reports that her father was located near SR 15 and U.S. 6 shortly after 2 a.m. unharmed.)

The family of an elderly Warsaw man suffering from Alzheimer’s is in need of the public’s help to find him and bring him home quickly and safely.

Diane Catron says she and her husband went out for dinner this evening with some friends and when they returned, her father, Bob Loper, was gone.

Loper apparently drove away from their Barrington Hills home in a 2009 gray Suburban with a license plate of YG5837. An iPad in the truck last transmitted a signal in the area of SR 15 and CR 800 North near Milford at approximately 9 p.m., but the family has not been able to receive any other information from the computer.

Loper is described as a physically capable 80-year-old man with white hair. He is likely wearing a Cubs hat and a red jacket. If located, Catron says her father will likely be very confused and may even lie about where he is going and what he is doing.

Loper is originally from the Chesterton and Gary areas so the family is concerned he may be headed that direction. However, he has not had a driver’s license for about 3 years.

If you see the gray Suburban and/or Loper, please call Indiana State Police at 1-800-552-2959, or call Brian Catron at 574-527-9418. The family and friends of Loper are out this evening trying to locate him.
