Triton To Host Harlem Wizards

The Harlem Wizards will bring their entertaining brand of basketball to Triton High School for a fundraiser on Oct. 1.

The Triton Trojan Athletic Club will host the Wizards for a charity game versus a team made up on Triton staff members at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the game will go on sale next week.  They will be available in the high school office and the elementary office during normal business hours.  There will also be ticket order forms sent home with elementary students and tickets will be on sale at various varsity athletic events, such as varsity volleyball and football games.  Tickets are $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the door.  All proceeds will go to benefit the more than 300 student athletes at Triton.

The Triton team is set to include Mr. Riffle (elementary principal), Mr. Ross (high school Assistant Principal), Mr. Van Houten (elementary Administrative Assistant), Mr. McIntyre (Athletic Director), Coach Heckaman (girls basketball), Coach Groves (boys basketball), Coach Rettinger (Cross Country), Coach Brown (Football/Wrestling), Coach Faulkner (girls basketball), Nurse Newman, Mrs. Watkins (6th grade teacher), Mrs. McFarland (6th grade teacher), Mrs. Waymouth (Jr/Sr HS teacher), Mrs. Davis (Jr/Sr HS teacher), Miss Westphal (HS Art teacher), Miss Stout (HS FACS teacher), Mrs. Kaufman (HS teachers aide) and more names to be announced later.

The Wizards Show basketball team was formed in 1962.  The group, like the Harlem Globetrotters, travels the World entertaining fans. Since its inception, the Wizards team (made up of former college players) has played over 6,000 games on five different continents and in 22 different countries.
