Accidents
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

  • Tuesday, July 31, 9:50 a.m. CR 450W, 3,000 feet south of SR 25W, Warsaw. Driver: Cathy Derf, 51, 768 W. Center St., Warsaw. Derf struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500
  • Friday, July 27, 7:07 p.m. Leiter Drive and Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Joshua Weldy, 30, 1006 N. Washington St., Bourban, and Whitney Losher, 25, 1502 Maye St., Warsaw. Weldy was stopped at a stop sign and attempted to reverse into a parking lot, not realizing Losher’s car was directly behind him. Losher’s car was struck with the hitch of Weldy’s. Damages: up to $2,500
  • Monday, July 23, 7:19 p.m. SR 19W ad SR 25S, Mentone. Drivers: Simon Kaitei, 32, 134 Watertower Court, Goshen, and Amberly Taylor, 19, 2634 20th Rd., Tippecanoe. Kaitei ran a stop sign and struck Taylor while she was crossing the intersection. Damages: up to $25,000
  • Wednesday, July 11, 3:15 a.m. Apple Street and SR 25S, Mentone. Driver: Brad Michaelson, 37, 123 Lakeland Dr., Warsaw. Michaelson struck a raccoon. Damages: under $1,001
Incidents
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following incidents:
  • Tuesday, July 31, 9:41 p.m. David Susaraba, Warsaw, reported he was struck by a vehicle at his residence.
  • Tuesday, July 31, 9:30 a.m. A juvenile female runaway was located on Pike Street in Warsaw.
  • Monday, July 30, 9:34 p.m. Phillip Lund, Cromwell, reported the theft of water shoes from his boat.
  • Monday, July 30. Mandy Walters of Warsaw reported receiving a phone call in reference to an attempted fraud.
  • Thursday, July 26, 9:53 p.m. Staff from Pierceton Woods contacted the Sheriff’s Department regarding an out of control resident.
  • Thursday, July 26, 8:07 p.m. Victor Patino Vega, 44, 5706 Winter St., Warsaw, was arrested for operating while intoxicated after Kosciusko County Dispatch received a complaint.
