Leesburg-Plain Township Fire Department was called to the Leesburg Gravel Pit around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when a piece of equipment caught fire in the gravel pit.

According to Andy Brown with Phend and Brown Inc., owners of the gravel pit, an earthmover caught fire. No cause of the fire has been determined according to Brown, who stated company officials will assess the damage and determine the cause.

The operator of the earthmover, whose name was not released, sustained burns to the arm and was treated and released.
