Warsaw Sports Wrap – May 19
BASEBALLTEAM DROPS PAIR
The Warsaw baseball team concluded regular-season play with two losses in its own Tiger Tournament Saturday.
The Tigers fell to Fort Wayne Snider 3-1 in game one. Brock Anson led WCHS with two hits.
DeKalb beat the Tigers 16-6 in game two. Jason Ferguson had three hits and Peyton Balazs a double to pace Warsaw.
Warsaw (10-17) plays Goshen Thursday at approximately 7:30 p.m. in first-round action of the Elkhart Memorial Sectional.
JV GOLFERS SECOND AT WABASH
The Warsaw junior varsity golf team finished in second place in the Wabash Invitational Saturday.
The JV Tigers, competing against other varsity teams, shot 307 to tie Lewis Cass. Warsaw then lost in sudden death after tying on the fifth man score.
Viraj Gokhale and Ryan Cultice each shot a 76 to finish second individually and pace the Tigers. Evan Cultice was fifth overall with a 77. Jared Essig shot 78 and Will Petro 81 for Warsaw.
