Goldie B. Pilcher, 102, a Syracuse resident since 1947, passed away on Jan. 16, 2015, at Tender Care Center in Goshen. She was born on June 20, 1912 to John and Rose Parkhurst in Brewster, Neb. A startling discovery was made by Dennis Spearman after the snow melted from Syracuse Cemetery. Bronze markers had disappeared. Spearman, caretaker of Syracuse Cemetery, notified the cemetery board in April that the bronze plaque next to the burial site of Samuel Crosson was missing.
