SYRACUSE — A teacher for 37 years, Don Bokhart will replace George Gilbert on the Wawasee school board. The school board approved the appointment of Bokhart during the regular monthly meeting Tuesday, July 12, in Syracuse.

With previous experience building a new school building in the Wawasee Community School Corporation, Fetters Construction Co. of Auburn was awarded the bid to build the new Syracuse Elementary School. The bid was awarded during the regular monthly meeting of the Wawasee school board Tuesday evening, Sept. 8, in Syracuse.

A few years ago the Wawasee Community School Corp. implemented several energy saving measures and has been utilizing Indianapolis-based Performance Services to monitor energy costs.
