INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Humanities is launching “Next Indiana Campfires,” a series that pairs literature and nature to help Hoosiers explore Indiana’s wild places and spark conversations about conservation and stewardship. The May 4 kickoff event will feature a conversation between environmental authors Terry Tempest Williams and Scott Russell Sanders at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. It will start at 6:30 p.m.
KOSCIUSKO — Educators, do you need some ready-to-go activities to supplement a lesson that are field-tested, award-winning, and student-proven fun and effective? Come get “WET” and “WILD” at a free workshop held at the amazing Merry Lea Environmental learning Center and sponsored by the Kosciusko County Soil and Water Conservation District.
First graders from Warsaw Christian School recently had a field trip at Merry Lea Environmental Center, north of Columbia City. Adrian Bowdler, Parker Spore, Amaya Hoyt, Rafe Hoover are shown with their field guide, Ellie, a Goshen College student, who taught them about different kinds of water bugs and plants.
