WARSAW — Kosciusko County Circuit Court Judge Michael Reed has granted a motion to dismiss the charge of assisting a criminal against Joan Marie DeHart, 51, formerly of Syracuse. The charge stemmed from DeHart allegedly assisting Brandon Woody following the murder of Tara Thornburg and Josh Knisley Feb. 19, 2015, in Syracuse.

SYRACUSE—Beginning Sunday, Feb. 19, one can see white ribbons tied to lampposts lining the streets of SR 13 in Syracuse. These white ribbons were tied around the poles in remembrance of the two year anniversary of the deaths of Joshua Knisley and Tara Thornburg Feb. 19, 2015.

SYRACUSE — Thomas Glen Hursey was handed a consecutive sentence totaling 27 1/2 years for his part in the murders of Joshua Knisley and Tara Thornburg, Feb. 19, 2015, in Syracuse. He will serve a total of 20 years, at the Indiana Department of Corrections with the remaining 7 1/2 years on formal probation.

WARSAW — One of four pending cases against Kyle DeHart, Syracuse, has been dismissed by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office. An order dismissing the charges, of corrupt business influence, a level 5 felony and conspiracy to commit dealing in a synthetic drug or synthetic drug look-a-like substance, filed in August 2014, has been dismissed. WARSAW — A new date to hear arguments for a change of venue and motions in limine has been set.

UPDATE: A motion to continue the hearing was filed and granted by Kosciusko Circuit Court Judge Mike Reed. A hearing, in the judges chambers, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12.

WARSAW — A seven-day 12-member jury trial, starting at 8 a.m. April 28 and continuing through May 6, has been put on the court calendar for Brandon Woody and Kyle DeHart on two counts of murder each. The trial will be held, at this time, in Kosciusko County Circuit Court.
