CROWN POINT — March 3rd not only marks the anniversary of John Dillinger’s escape from the Crown Point Jail 82 years ago, but will also be the only day the infamous wooden gun and two other Thompson submachine guns will be on display at the John Dillinger Museum.

The John Dillinger Museum will celebrate its grand reopening in a new location next week. The museum moved to the Old Lake County Courthouse in downtown Crown Point, Indiana, from the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond. The celebration will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 22, on the 81st anniversary of Dillinger’s death. …read more.
