WARSAW —  Kosciusko County Treasurer Rhonda Helser told the county commissioners Tuesday that nearly $23,000 was collected last year from past-due taxes through a state program that allows counties to collect late taxes through garnishment of tax refunds. NORTH WEBSTER — The four contracted areas of the projects are quickly approaching the substantial completion date of Dec. 27, with final touches being added to each area. Contract A, bid by Selge Construction, covers Shoe Lake, Irish Lake, Sawmill Lake and part of Sechrist and Barbee lakes. Casey Erwin, DLZ project engineer, estimated this area to be 59 percent complete with the majority of laterals installed and grinder stations being placed, as well.

NORTH WEBSTER — Board member Bob Sanders expressed frustration with those who refused to join the project when it was presented. “We’re bending over backwards to help these guys,” said Sanders. “… let them eat a little crow.”

NORTH WEBSTER — The district voted with a five to one yes to put a plan in place for property owners to be added to the project who may have refused to join before, purchased new property within the district, or one of several other possible reasons. Treasurer Mike DeWald was the only board member to vote no.
