WARSAW — The great tradition of youth sports lives on today at the Parkview Warsaw YMCA, and the value of participating in those sports is more important than ever! Today’s youth live increasingly sedentary lifestyles; in fact, only 1 in 3 children participate in daily physical activity. Youth sports help fight this lifestyle by building a foundation for lifelong health, encouraging social and community bonds, and teaching young people to overcome challenges. 

WARSAW — There’s no denying that the YMCA and the history of sports are uniquely intertwined. The YMCA is where many young people are first introduced to playing sports and even where many sports, like basketball and volleyball, were invented. The YMCA was even the first organization to pay someone to play quarterback, making him the first professional football player.

WARSAW — The YMCA of Warsaw is preparing several sporting opportunities in the coming weeks for children of all ages.

Poly-wood Inc., the Syracuse-based maker of recycled plastic furniture, recently donated tables, chairs and benches to the Harold Schrock Youth Sports Complex, in Syracuse.
