SYRACUSE — Chad Jonsson, park superintendent, reported he is still working on the five-year master plan to the Syracuse Park Board Monday night, July 11. Jonsson told the board he was currently looking at costs and how to fund several proposed projects. He will have more to report on at the August meeting.

SYRACUSE — Syracuse Park Foundation Board approved a quote from Patriot Tree Services LLC of Goshen for $3,500 to remove dead and dying trees along the creek behind the Harold Schrock Athletic Complex during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, March 22. Chad Jonsson, park superintendent, explained many of these trees are ash trees.

SYRACUSE — On Saturday afternoon, Feb. 13, Polar Plunge was not an exaggeration at all. The actual temperature was 14 degrees and with the wind chill factored in, it felt more like about -2.

SYRACUSE — Monday, Sept. 14, Syracuse Parks and Recreation Board held a special session at the Syracuse Community Center to hear public input for the five-year parks and recreation master plan. The board will review suggestions received during the public meeting and via electronic survey at its October meeting.
