EFFINGHAM COUNTY, GA. — Seven brothers and sisters are being adopted by the same family after spending nearly four years in foster care.

WARSAW — Madison McKenzie Jones, 19, 301 Ulrich Drive, Milford, plead guilty to charges of battery resulting in serious bodily injury and neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury, this morning in Kosciusko County Circuit Court. Jones was charged Feb. 27 at which time her two-month old child suffered blunt force trauma.

SOUTH BEND —The Indiana Heart Gallery, a traveling exhibit featuring compelling portraits of children in need of adoptive families, is stopping in South Bend. The Gallery will be featured at the Northern Indiana Autism Expo on Oct. 17. The Department of Child Services uses the Heart Gallery’s professional portraits and stories about foster children in Indiana to help put a face on a sometimes invisible need and remind families that adoption can change lives. There is no charge to see the gallery.

Twenty-nine month old twins from Anderson spent 10 days in Riley Hospital for Children earlier this month after suffering alleged neglect and severe malnutrition over the course of several months.
