The public will have the opportunity to enjoy fair food this week at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds even though the community fair has been cancelled.

SYRACUSE — Early afternoon at Lakeside Park had many trying to stay cool. With temperatures in the mid 80s and little cloud cover, kids and adults alike were enjoying the cool waters of Syracuse Lake.

MENTONE — This morning the Mentone Egg Festival started off bright and early at 6 a.m. with the firemen’s pancake and sausage breakfast. Breakfast fueled everyone up for the 8 a.m. Egg City 5K Run. Residents lined up along Main Street to await the parade as it advanced downtown. This year’s parade theme was “The Olympics” with Eileen Bowser as the parade marshall.

NORTH WEBSTER — Come one, come all to the Dixie Day Festival & Artisan Fair. Most events will take place between 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, July 29. There is no entry fee to the festival. It celebrates the Dixie sternwheel paddle boat that has been cruising Webster Lake since 1929.
