INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Conservation Officers have added small unmanned aircraft systems to their search and rescue capabilities. The DNR Law Enforcement Division is the first state emergency response agency to receive official endorsement to utilize these devices for the purpose of search and rescue operations. District 1, with headquarters at Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, has a certified pilot of the SUAS machines.

KENDALLVILLE — Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a report of a possible drowning in Bixler Lake in Kendallville. At 5:36 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 25, Noble County Dispatch received a call that witnesses observed a person calling for help while swimming near the southwest side of the lake. Witnesses observed the person go under the water and not resurface.
