The emergency order restricting motorized watercraft to idle speed on the Barbee chain of lakes in Kosciusko County has been lifted. Normal boating operations may resume.
Floodwaters on several lakes are high enough that officials are banning motorized watercraft from above idle speed.

NORTH WEBSTER — Change orders and construction progress were the talk of the evening for the Lakeland Regional Sewer District board during the regular monthly meeting held at the North Webster Community Center.
NORTH WEBSTER — The four contracted areas of the projects are quickly approaching the substantial completion date of Dec. 27, with final touches being added to each area. Contract A, bid by Selge Construction, covers Shoe Lake, Irish Lake, Sawmill Lake and part of Sechrist and Barbee lakes. Casey Erwin, DLZ project engineer, estimated this area to be 59 percent complete with the majority of laterals installed and grinder stations being placed, as well.
NORTH WEBSTER — With $28 million invested around the Barbee chain of lakes, the board placed pressure on Crane Systems and Pumps to extend the warranty on the type one grinder stations and to do so in a timely manner.
NORTH WEBSTER — The board wanted to know how long Crane would stand behind their repairs, requesting the company extend its five-year warranty to something more substantial. Walt Erndt, vice president and general manager of the Municipal Group said the team would take the idea back to the president and present an option to the board by Friday, May 13.
