CLAYPOOL — Several months ago I was driving south of Warsaw on SR 15 up and down the gently rolling hills near Claypool. I noticed an old barn sitting fairly close to the road.

CLAYPOOL — Duncan Campbell, board member of the Indiana Barn Foundation, looked at a photo of the old barn along SR 15, north of Claypool, and said the style has its origins in the English threshing barn, sometimes referred to as the English three-bay barn.

SYRACUSE — A motorist driving in the area of CR 1350N saw smoke Saturday evening Nov. 26, and went to investigate. That motorist found a barn on fire at 9661 E. 1350N, Syracuse. Turkey Creek Fire Territory was notified at 8:14 p.m. and upon arriving found the barn fully involved.

INDIANA — The Indiana Bicentennial Committee has compiled a list of the top 10 Bicentennial barns in the state.
