WARSAW — A dream of a third fire station for Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory is one step closer after WWFT board members approved an agreement with MartinRiley, Fort Wayne, Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 6. Originally estimated at $4,470,160 in January, the cost has been reduced to $3,623,852 for a smaller station. The agreement will go before the Warsaw Board of Works Sept. 16 for action.

KANSAS CITY — We call police when we need help. As it turns out, police needed to call the Kansas City Fire Department when they ended up stranded in a tight spot.

SYRACUSE — Lutheran EMS, Milford Fire Department and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle accident on CR 300E, north of the intersection with CR 1300N this evening around 4:50 p.m.

NORTH WEBSTER — Next week is Fire Prevention Week, and the North Webster Fire Department will be spending the day with North Webster Elementary to go over fire prevention methods.

WINONA LAKE — Warsaw fire is responding to a fire on Hand Avenue, just north of Winona Avenue.

Though costs ran “considerably more” than expected, renovation of the township’s cemeteries has reached the halfway point. Turkey Creek Township Trustee Barb Griffith reported Monday, Aug. 10, the charges totaled $56,567.50 for tombstone and memorial marker remediation, tree removal, landscaping and debris removal.
