FORT WAYNE — Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo will soon be home to two lions again. Bahati, a two-year-old male from the Racine Zoo, will join Ina, the female lion. Ina’s former companion, Bill, died in April.

INDIANA — Gas prices are plunging around the country, with the national average falling in 24 out of the past 30 days, according to AAA. The price of a gallon of regular now stands at $2.04 nationally, down 14 cents compared to one month ago and 74 cents lower than this time last year. In early 2015, the national average dropped near the $2 mark but never crossed it. But AAA and others anticipate that we’ll dip below the $2 threshold within a matter of days.

INDIANAPOLIS — Governor Mike Pence today, Tuesday, Oct. 23, unveiled his 21st Century Crossroads proposal, a plan that will make $1 billion in new road funding available over the next four years without raising taxes. 21st Century Crossroads would put the Indiana Department of Transportation on a path to resurface 16,000 miles of state highways and repair more than 5,200 bridges over the next 15 years.
