Vikings Drop Close One On Courts

Tippy Valley SportsAKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis team lost a close one to Knox Wednesday evening.

Knox took the non-conference match by a 3-2 final over the Vikings.

Keith Wright posted a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles to lead Valley.

The No. 2 doubles team of Eric Wright and Kane Steller prevailed in a marathon match for the Vikings. The duo won 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-2) in an outstanding effort.

Trevor Neeley lost in three sets at No. 1 singles for Valley. Nick Caudill dropped his match at No. 3 singles in straight sets and the No. 1 doubles team of Dakota Parker and Seth Hoffman also lost in two sets for the Vikings.

Winning in junior varsity play for Valley were Parkur Dalrymple and Alex Kromkowski in singles action and the doubles duo of Dylan Sponseller and Garett Feldman.
