Goshen Shuts Down Tiger Tennis
Warsaw has handed out some shutouts in the Northern Lakes Conference in recent years. Tuesday, Goshen returned the favor, blanking the Tigers 5-0 at Goshen Middle School.
All three singles courts for the Redskins were victorious in straight sets.
Hudson Kay ran the No. 1 singles court over Justin Stout one and one, Evan Beck was strong at No. 2 in a love and one win against Andrew Gauger and Hugh Birky took care of Ryan Wettschurack two and three at No. 3.
At No. 1 doubles, Luke Rush and Logan Troyer handled Chris Herendeen and Colton Lind one and four. At No. 2 doubles, Giovanni Aguayo and Jacob Grewe held on for a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 win against David Homme and Hudson Snyder.
The Tiger JV claimed a 9-2 win against the Redskins. Results included:

Warsaw (4-2, 1-1 NLC) will host Culver Academy Wednesday and return to NLC action Thursday at Plymouth.
Tigers Drop Two In NLC
In a Northern Lakes Conference heavyweight showdown, NorthWood moved to 5-0 in the conference with a 167 to best Plymouth (177) and Warsaw (215) Tuesday in girls golf at Plymouth Country Club.
Linnzie Richner had the round of the day with a 39 and was followed by Madison Richner at 40, Summer Stillson at 41 and Makenzie Weaver at 47 as the Lady Panthers will host Wawasee, also 5-0 in the NLC, in a winner-take-all regular season title match.
Plymouth was respectable with Morgan Oberley shooting 41, Miranda Dunn and Katie Johnson finishing at 44 and Lauren Kolter at 48. Plymouth’s split moves them to 3-2 in the NLC.
Warsaw fell to 3-3 in the conference. Madi Graham shot a 48, followed by Madison Martz at 53 and Page Desenberg and Morgen Fuentes at 57.
Plymouth’s JV shot a 222 to Warsaw’s 263. NorthWood did not have a full JV compliment. Top score for the Pilgrims was 52 by Jennah Nifong and top score for the Tigers was 59 by Madelyn Ray.
Warsaw will host Elkhart Memorial Thursday in the NLC finale for the two teams at Stonehenge.
