Tippy Valley SportsAKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley volleyball team rolled past Peru in dominating fashion Tuesday night.

The Vikings took the match by a 25-10, 25-9, 25-16 count.

Abby Betten led the way for Valley with 15 kills and four aces in the win.

Lexi O’Connell had four digs and Madison Henninger 16 assists for the Vikings.

The Valley junior varsity team won 25-15, 25-20.

Valley, now 6-3, will play at Maconaquah on Thursday night.

Golf Squad Goes 1-1

The Valley girls golf team posted another 1-1 mark in a triangular.

Maconaquah finished with a 203 to win the league action at the Peru Municipal Golf Course. Valley shot 215 as a team and Rochester finished at 223.

Victoria Biddle was the low individual for the Vikings with a 44.

Liz VanMeter came in with a 52 and Blake McBrier a 56 for Valley.  Makayla Sandbakken shot a 63 and Lexi Cumberland a 64.

Jordan Krotke had a 57 and Jade VanMeter a 62 for Valley in junior varsity action.

Valley is now 7-7 overall and 5-3 in the Three Rivers Conference.

The Vikings face Southwood Thursday at the Etna Acres Golf Course.

Tennis Team Falls To Peru

The Valley boys tennis team dropped a 4-1 conference final to Peru.

Trevor Neeley collected the lone point for the Vikings as he rallied for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles in the TRC match.

Keith Wright and Nick Caudill each lost in straight sets at No. 2 and 3 singles respectively for Valley.

The duo of Dakota Parker and Sett Hoffman lost in two sets at No. 1 doubles for the Vikings. The team of Eric Wright and Kane Steller lost at No. 2 doubles, also in straight sets.

Winning in junior varsity play for Valley were Parker Dalrymple and Chris Schipper in singles and the doubles team of Dylan Sponseller and Keegan Larimer.
