Cougars Come Up Just Short
WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian Academy soccer team fell just short of its first win of the season Tuesday night.
The host Cougars dropped a 2-1 final to Winamac in prep action.
Winamac took a 1-0 lead in the opening half by scoring off a penalty kick about midway through the first period of play.
The Warriors stretched their lead to 2-0 off a corner kick goal in the second half.
Cross Williams got the Cougars on the scoreboard in the final half with LCA’s lone goal of the match.
Williams, along with Melissa Goss, Jovan Bowdler, Jeremy Gross led the defense for LCA, along with keeper Elijah Raymond.
LCA, now 0-7, hosts Argos Thursday.
