Warsaw Ladies Sixth In Cross Country Poll

Warsaw SportsWARSAW – The Warsaw girls cross country team checks in at No. 6 this week in the IATCCC (Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches) poll.

Scott Erba’s team opened its season with a second-place finish Saturday in the Huntington Invitational. No. 5 Carroll (Fort Wayne) won the team title with a score of 48 and Warsaw was second at 59.

The Tigers return all seven runners this fall from last year’s team that placed 16th at the State Finals.

Warsaw, both the girls and boys teams, will host the Tiger Invitational today at 5 p.m. at the course at WCHS.

The area is well represented in the girls poll with Penn at No. 11, Northridge at No. 13, LaPorte at No. 16 and New Prairie at No. 25.

The LaPorte boys team is No. 16 in the coaches boys poll.

Both Carmel teams are ranked No. 1 in the state.
