WINONA LAKE – The Lakeland Christian Academy soccer team lost a 5-0 final Friday night to Community Baptist.

The guests took a 2-0 halftime lead en route to the win.

The trio of Melissa Goss, Jovan Bowdler and Jeremy Gross led the defensive effort for LCA in the opening half to keep the match close.

Community Baptist added three goals in the final half for the 5-0 final.

The tandem of Garrett McCoomb and Theran McKeever led the offense in the final half for LCA.

Community Baptist had a 12-3 edge in shots on goal in the match.

LCA sophomore keeper Elijah Raymond had seven saves for the Cougars.

LCA, now 0-2, plays at Whitko on Saturday at 5 p.m.
