Wildcat Spikers Roll

The Whitko volleyball team started the season well with a 3-0 victory over Lakeland Christian Academy.

Whitko won the contest by way of victories in the first three games, 25-10, 25-14 and 25-7. Kaity Reed led the Wildcats with 10 kills and 20 digs. Brianna Tackett tallied seven aces and six kills. Haley Yohe added 34 assists and Emily Day was strong with six kills of her own.

The ladies will travel to Churubusco on Tuesday.

Whitko Drops Tennis Opener

The Whitko boys tennis team fell victim to a 3-2 loss Tuesday night. Northrop found wins at No. 1 singles, No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles, by way of forfeit.

Tim Gensch and Nic Rose took a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 doubles for the Wildcats. Cory Hersha def. Brandon Tang 6-1, 6-0 to claim victory on the No. 3 singles court for Whitko as well.

Whitko will host Maconaquah Wednesday evening.
