The Lakeland Christian Academy soccer team opened its season with an 8-0 loss at Elkhart Christian Academy Tuesday night.

The Cougars played a strong opening half and trailed just 2-0 at intermission.

ECA, a much more experienced side, tallied seven goals in the final half to pull away to the convincing win.

The hosts had an 18-0 edge in shots on goal in the match.

LCA returns to action Saturday at Whitko at 5 p.m.

Volleyball Team Falls

The LCA volleyball team went on the road for the second straight night and came up on the short end of a 3-0 decision at Whitko.

The Cougars, who lost at Jimtown in their opener Monday night, lost 25-10, 25-14, 25-9 to the host Wildcats.

LCA (0-2) will play in the West Noble Invitational Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
