Adam Wade Porter, 29, of South Whitley, died at 8:44 p.m. Friday, Aug.  14, 2015, a victim of a shooting.

He was born Oct. 19, 1985, in Columbia City, a son of Danny G. Porter and Tonya E. (Dundas) Warner. He spent his entire life in South Whitley graduating from Whitko High School with the Class of 2004. He became a licensed electrician.

He worked with his father at DP Plumbing-Heating-Electrical since his graduation.  An avid New England Patriots fan, he loved NFL football. He liked to golf and was adored by his friends and family for his contagious smile.

He is survived by his parents, Tonya (David) Warner; and Danny G. (Jill Lacy) Porter, both of South Whitley; sister: Jessica Porter, Fort Wayne; grandparents: Tom and Georgiana Porter; and Bill and Linda Miller, all of South Whitley; and several aunts; uncles; and cousins. He was preceded in death aunts: Lisa Litchfield; and Robin Reiff; and his beloved dog: Petie.

A Tribute Service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, South Whitley. Friends and family are asked to come prepared to share fond memories of Adam. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that you give memorials to Adam’s final expenses care of Smith and Sons.
