UPDATE: All land line phone services have been restored for both the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department and the Elkhart County Public Safety Communications Center.

ELKHART- The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department and the Public Safety Communications Center are currently experiencing phone interruptions that will keep callers from communicating information to them using landline phone numbers.

Emergency information may be reported to the Sheriff’s Department or to the 911 center by utilizing their cell phone to call 911.

Though it is uncertain as to how long the interruptions will last, the sheriff’s department’s administrative and correctional facilities will remain open to the public during their normal business hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
