MONROE COUNTY, IN — The Indiana DNR is warning the public to watch out for Timber Rattlesnakes, in a Facebook post Aug. 4.
According to IDNR officials, the heat is making snakes more active recently. Several Timber Rattlesnakes were spotted in Morgan Monroe State Forest last week.
Timber Rattlesnakes are endangered and it is illegal to kill them. IDNR officers suggest giving the snakes plenty of space and say if you leave them alone, they should leave you alone as well.
