STAR CITY – Liz VanMeter led the Tippecanoe Valley girls golf team to a 1-1 mark Monday.

VanMeter earned individual medalist honors as the Vikings defeated Caston and lost to Pioneer in play at the Pond View Golf Course.

VanMeter shot a 49 as the Vikings shot 238 as a team. Pioneer won the match with a 236 and Caston shot 278.

Jade VanMeter finished with a 62 and Victoria Biddle 63 for Valley. Blake McBrier shot a 64 and Makayla Sandbakken 73 for the Vikings’ varsity team.

Lexi Cumberland shot a 69 for the Valley junior varsity. Katie Prater had an 83 and Brianna McBrier an 89.

Valley, 1-1 on the season, will face Northwestern and Peru Tuesday at the Green Acres Golf Course.
