CARMEL – The NorthWood girls golf team placed 15th while Wawasee was 17th Saturday in the Fall State Preview.
The Panthers shot a team total of 378 in the 21-team event held at the Prairie View Golf Club, site of the IHSAA State Finals later this fall. Wawasee landed in its place with a 390 team score.
Linnzie Richner and Summer Stillson each had strong efforts to lead coach Adam Yoder’s team. Richner shot a round of 80 and Stillson came in with an 81.
Mackenzie Weaver and Madison Richner each shot 107 for the Panthers. Abby Slabaugh completed the lineup with a 124.
Steve Coverstone saw his team, which played Prairie View last October in the state finals, be led by a pair of 94s from Madison Beaman and Kylee Rostochak. Aubrey Schmeltz and Mikala Mawhorter each shot 101 and Kamryn Foy posted a 109.
Westfield won the team title by shooting 322. Carmel was second at 324 with Columbus North (327), Hamilton Southeastern (331) and Lake Central (336) rounding out the top five teams.
