ATLANTA — Delta Air Lines has announced plans to hire 1,800 flight attendants as the company works to expand its flight schedule.

Delta, based in Atlanta, is now accepting applications for the positions, with interviews scheduled to begin this fall. The first hires will start training in January.

A Delta spokesperson stated that more than 100,000 people applied for 1,800 positions during the airline’s last round of flight attendant hiring.
