SYRACUSE – The 2015 prep sports season officially began Tuesday afternoon as the Wawasee girls golf team hosted Columbia City at South Shore Golf Club in Syracuse. Wawasee got right back into form taking the match 172-201 over the visiting Eagles.

Aubrey Schmeltz led the way as varsity medalist with a 40. Kylee Rosotchak signed for a 42, Mikala Mawhorter shot a 43. Madison Beaman and Kamryn Foy rounded out the WHS varsity scores with a 47 and 48, respectively. Taylor Daniel led City with a 47.

Wawasee’s junior varsity won 236-248 with Lesley Taygua leading the way with a 55.
