LAFAYETTE – Summer Stillson led the way as the NorthWood girls golf team finished ninth in the loaded Lafayette Jefferson Invitational Tuesday.
Stillson shot a round of 84 as the Panthers shot 356 as a team in the 21-team event held at the Battle Ground Golf Course.
Stillson, a junior, set a program record on the day by hitting 14-14 fairways in her round. The previous best were 13-14 fairways hit by both Heidi Morganthaler and Rachel Beebe.
The duo of Linnzie Richner and Mackenzie Weaver each shot a round of 87 for the Panthers. Madison Richner finished with a 98 and Hope Cripe had a 111.
No. 14 Cathedral won the invitational team title with a 313. Westfield was runner-up with a 317 with Lake Central third with a 318. Zionsville shot 328 and Crown Point 329 to round out the top five teams in the standings.
The top six teams in the event were all ranked in the coaches preseason poll.
