FORT WAYNE – After a year away, the Shindigz National Soccer Festival will return to the Hefner Fields on August 21 and 22 for the 16th season of the event.

“We’re pleased to welcome the Shindigz National Soccer Festival back to IPFW,” said Chancellor Vicky Carwein. “This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole community to visit campus and cheer the Mastodons on to victory.”

“Bringing the Shindigz National Soccer Fest back to IPFW is a big win for the University and Fort Wayne,” said IPFW Director of Athletics Kelley Hartley Hutton. “We are excited to have this National event back to campus to showcase our men’s program and our first-class facility in Hefner Field.”

The event, which is headed by former IPFW men’s and women’s soccer coach and current Trine women’s soccer coach Terry Stefankiewicz, will showcase six collegiate contests, including the Mastodons taking on the Michigan State Spartans at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 21.

“We always wanted to be at IPFW,” Stefankiewicz said to the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette. “It’s the best place for us.”

The remaining collegiate games in the event will consist of women’s matches Indiana Tech vs. Goshen and Trine vs. Anderson and men’s matches Xavier vs. Ohio State, St. Francis vs. Indiana Tech, and Indiana vs. Marquette.
