He was born to Donald Dean and Jean Irene Kofford Jenkins in Rochester, on Feb. 21, 1966.  Both of his parents preceded him in death in 1968, after which he was welcomed along with his brother, Scott, into the home and family of his uncle and aunt, Robert and Eileen Butler of Culver.  Jeff graduated from Culver Community High School in 1984, joining the US Army shortly thereafter and was stationed at both Fort Rucker, Alabama, and Fort Hood, Texas.

After his Army service, Jeff lived and worked in various locations around the country employed in the right-of-way
industry with airports, gas and electric companies, eventually returning to Indiana, while continuing to travel as a self-
employed consultant.  On Oct. 18, 2008, Jeff and Susan were married at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church.

Jeff was a lifelong fan and member of the National Hot Rod Association, making annual trips to Clermont, Indiana, for
the NHRA U.S. Nationals.  He was also a diehard Pittsburg Steelers Fan. He had been a member of the Culver V.F.W.  Post #6919 Men’s Auxiliary.

In addition to Susan, Jeff is survived by his son: Jeffrey “Alan” Jenkins Jr., Belton, Texas; his brother: Scott (Cathy) Jenkins, Lexington, S.C.; nephew: Justin (Carrie) Jenkins, Rochester; and great-nieces: Katelyn and Addyson; his father: Robert Butler, Culver; and brothers: Gary (Michele) Butler; and Jim (Betty) Butler, all of Culver, along with numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins.

In addition to Donald and Jean Jenkins, Jeff was preceded in death by his son: Keith Robert Jenkins; his mother: Eileen Butler; and his brother: Donald Kevin Jenkins.

Services for Jeffrey Alan Jenkins will be held at Poplar Grove United Methodist Church on Friday, July 24, with Reverend Henry Sprunger officiating. Visitation with the family will be at 1 p.m. with graveside services there at 2 p.m. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to all of the doctors, nurses, and support staff involved in the liver transplant program responsible for Jeff’s care at University Hospital for their expertise, concern, and emotional support.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to either the Indiana Donor Network Foundation, Indianapolis, http://indianadonornetwork.org/foundation/memorial-gifts/ or to the Organ Transplant Emergency Fund of the IU Heath University Hospital Foundation, office of Philanthropy, http://iuhealth.org/university/about/foundation.
