Viola M. “Vi” Weicht, 86, of Blairstown, N.J, and formerly of Pierceton, passed away at 8:10 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2015, at the home of her daughter in Blairstown, N.J.

She was born on April 6, 1929, in Noble County, to Cecil Edward and Vicie Gladys (Howell) Knapp.

She graduated in 1948 from Wolf Lake High School and was married on Nov. 18, 1950 to Billy S. Weicht who preceded her in July 1997 after 46 years of marriage. She lived most of her life in Noble and Kosciusko County but has resided with her daughter in New Jersey for the past 12 years to help care for her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She retired in 1989 from Weatherhead Corp. in Columbia City after 40 years of service.

She attended the Church of God in North Webster.

She is survived by her daughter: Franclin “Fran” Weicht, Blairstown, N.J.; two sons: Dave (Barrie) Weicht, Pierceton; and Daniel (Susan) Weicht, North Webster; five grandchildren: Christi Hedington, Tippecanoe; Amy Johnson, Cromwell; Tristan Weicht, Fort Campbell, Ky.; Claire and Wyatt Zara, Blairstown, N.J.; four great-grandchildren: Lucas and Devn Stidams, Tippecanoe; Teigan Weicht, Fort Campbell, Ky.; and Emma Johnson, Cromwell. She was preceded in death by parents; husband; and two brothers: Charles and Donald Knapp.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
