Betty L. Hewett, 74, Rochester, passed away at 7:52 p.m. Friday July 10, 2015, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1940 in Augusta, Maine. She had worked for over thirteen years as a nurse aid at Life Care Center of Rochester, as a waitress for the former Maggie’s Restaurant and had provided Home Health Care. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading.

Survivors include her daughter: Virginia (Jim) Patterson, Rochester; grandchildren: Kyle (Meghan) McLochlin, Rochester; Tai (companion Kyle Phillips) Johnson, Leesburg; great-grandchildren: Reilly Patterson, Indianapolis; Taya Johnson, Leesburg; Mason McLochlin, Rochester; sisters: Linda; Diane; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Rich Scharnhorst; grandson: Nick Patterson; and two sisters.
