WARSAW – Stonehenge Golf Club was the site for the eighth annual Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club golf outing. Around 100 local business people chased the little white ball around the beautiful and relaxing course, all to benefit kid’s programs in the Warsaw community through the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club.

Every year the outing grows a little bit more, and this year, the event netted over $8,500 to support kid’s programs such as Spring Break Skate, Student of the Week, Youth Oratorical Contest, Hoops for Hope, Cruise-In to Downtown Warsaw, and Big Wheel Race, to name a few.

The YMCA Team of Chad Zaucha, Tim Minear, Will Frederick and Brian Peterson took first place and won a foursome with lunch at Tippecanoe Lake Country Club. The Esther Pfleiderer Team with team members John Elliott, Dave Wolkins and Matt Wolkins took second place by a coin toss, and won another round of golf at Stonehenge. Third place was taken by Buhrt Engineering team of Dennis Buhrt, Mark Glova, Dan Osbeck and Jack Zimmerman with a prize of a $35 gift certificate each to Cerulean.

Terry Fancil won closest to the pin on number three and Mark Ervin won closest to the pin on number eight. Jason Gergely won longest putt on number nine and number 16 while Randy Cesco won shortest drive on number 10. Closest to the pin on number 12 was won by Everett Nifong, Tiberius Rata won closest to the pin on number 14. Straightest drive on number 17 was won by Elliott. Longest putt was won by Kristin Farwell.

Through various fundraising activities during the year, the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club raises over $20,000 to donate to youth oriented activities. The Club meets Wednesday mornings at 7 a.m. for the breakfast meeting in the Shrine Building at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds. The Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club was the proud recipient of the 2013 Heart of Gold Award presented by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation.
