SYRACUSE — Megan Owens, 21, Syracuse, was transported to IU Health Goshen for medical treatment after her vehicle struck a tree early today, Thursday, July 9. Owens complained of head and neck pain.

Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department responded to a one vehicle accident at 3:50 a.m. on US 6, east of SR 13S, north of Syracuse.

Owens said she was westbound on US 6 in a 2000 Ford Mustang when her vehicle struck a tree laying across the highway.

Police report there was heavy rain with limited visibility at the time of the accident.
