A benefit fundraising spaghetti dinner will be held for Nick Parker from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 19 at First Christian Church, 115 Park Ridge Drive, Warsaw.

When Nick and Beth Parker exchanged wedding vows in September 2013, they had no idea how soon they would face for better or for worse due to nearly unthinkable circumstances. By June 2014, Nick began having symptoms of kidney failure.

Unfortunately Nick knew all too well what the symptoms meant, as he had experienced similar ones in his late teen years, which led to a kidney transplant in February 2009 thanks to a donation from his brother.

Despite having some insurance coverage, the Parkers have already incurred thousands in medical expenses and are anticipating more future expenses for testing, surgeries and recoveries.

Proceeds from the spaghetti dinner will go to support the Parkers through the medical ordeal.
