James D. Hibbs, 55, of Churubusco, passed away at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at his home in Churubusco.

Mr. Hibbs was born on Jan. 27, 1960 in Auburn, a son of Devillo “Jack” and Donna (Froman) Hibbs. He spent his formative years in Churubusco.

He was self employed as a farmer and handy man.

The surviving relatives include his parents: Devillo “jack” and Donna Hibbs, Churubusco; six sisters: Janet (Loyd) Flener, Chasnee, S.C.; Jackie (Dave) Folk, Tennyson; Joyce (Ed) Dauscher, Columbia City; Julia (Cliff) Gaff, Albion; Jeni Speidell, Fort Wayne; and Sandy (Jody) Simmons, Battle Ground; two brothers: John Hibbs, Churubusco; and Jeff (Sandi) Hibbs, Cromwell; 32 nieces; nephews; and 34 great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his niece Maria Flener.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, July 3,  at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home.The family will receive friends at the Sheets and Childs Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday.
