Michael Dean Leazenby Jr.Michael Dean Leazenby, Jr., 38, of Wabash, died Saturday, June 27, 2015, in Wabash . He was born April 16, 1977 in Wabash, to Donna (Thrush) Sparling.

Mike was a 1996 graduate of North Vigo High School, in Terre Haute, Indiana, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from IUPUI. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He attended Wabash Friends Church, and had a passion for the nursing field. He enjoyed science fiction and horror movies. Mike wrote a fiction book, titled, “Imminent Danger”, based upon his career in the US Air Force, as a helicopter mechanic, and his experience as an EMT serving the Indiana National Guard.

He is survived by his mother: Donna Sparling, Andrews; daughter: Cynthia Basey, Indianapolis; sister: Stephanie (Jesse) Height; and nephews: Nathan and Brody Height, both of Wabash; several aunts; uncles; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his stepfather: Ray Forsthoffer.

Graveside services and burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, with David Phillips officiating. Friends may call 8:30 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. Friday, at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
